ABOUT THE CLASS
You’ve taken our Improv 101 class and “caught the bug,” and you spent 6 weeks focusing on creating fun, silly characters with our Improv 102 class. What’s next?
In Improv 103, we want to focus WHO you are to each other, and what the STAKES of the scene are. In other words, the relationship and the objective — two of the most important aspects to any improv scene.
In order to establish these things, you’ll need ACTING skills! This class is a great way to get them, to feel more confident onstage, and connect with your scene partners.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Brian Hines is a recent transplant to Vermont from Connecticut, which apparently wasn’t cold enough for him.
Brian has taught and performed at SeaTea Comedy Theater in Hartford, CT for over 7 years. He was a member of multiple house teams and also wrote, directed, and performed in a variety of sketch shows. In addition to classes in CT, Brian trained at the Upright Citizen's Brigade theater and was accepted into their advanced study program.
Brian loves playing game in improv and is a fan of exploring relationships and the history of characters in scenes. His goal in classes and workshops is to make concepts as simple as possible. You can expect him to use non-improv terminology to help you learn this very fun, very strange art form.
