ABOUT THE CLASS
Learn the basic process of analyzing a monologue! In this workshop, you will deepen your understanding of a character's motivations, how to convey the tone, and identify the strategies a character uses to get what they want - all through making your own creative choices about the monologue. Bring your own piece of text (where one character is speaking for about a minute) from a movie, a play, or even a poem or song that could be spoken from one point of view (texts can also be provided if needed!). This process is perfect to prepare for auditions, performances, or even showing off to your friends at parties!
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Brooke Ferguson (she/her) is an actor, improviser, educator, drama therapist, and silly silly goose.
Her love of performing having started in second grade, she’s spent the last 15 years directing and teaching acting.
She also has a BFA in theater performance, but she doesn't want to brag about it.
Here in Vermont, she can be seen playing with her other half in “Wry BrEd” and all the best people in “All The Worst People”.
Policies & Procedures
Covid-19 Policy: Vaccinations and boosters are recommended but not required. Masking is at the student’s discretion.
Cancellation Policy: We will refund 100% of tuition for cancellations made 14 days (or more) before the start of any class. Tuition cannot be refunded on cancellations made fewer than 14 days before the class. Contact us if you wish to cancel.
Concerns About Payment? If you have the desire to learn, we want you to have the opportunity! We frequently offer installment plans and partial or full scholarships (need-based and diversity). If you are having trouble affording this class, contact us to work out an arrangement.
