The Dissection [June 14]
Watch comedy, take it apart!
DAY: Sunday, June 14th
TIME: 3:00pm — 4:00pm
Sometimes you just want to know WHY something works, and that's what this series is all about!
Join us to watch an improv scene/show, then (with the aid of our very own Director of Education, Sam Kurnit) go over all the moves and discuss what worked, what didn't, and most importantly, why!
For this edition of The Dissection, we'll be watching the first episode of Live On Set from LA Improv group Big Grande:
Big Grande: Live On Set - Movie Set - https://youtu.be/TmbksRNuYYo?si=CvlRf3P0wmMn-r2r
(you do not need to watch it in advance as we'll be watching it as part of the discussion)
So step into the observation room and join us for The Dissection!
Lunch & Laugh
Join us from 11:30-12:30 on Wednesday, June 17th for Lunch & Laugh - a 30 minute improv workshop (all experience levels welcome) followed by 30 minutes of eating lunch and chatting with your new friends.
Studies have shown that people who improvise are better collaborators, more creative and have superior active listening skills. Improv builds resilience and provides catharsis through play, improving overall mental health. Also, it’s just plain FUN!
A “bag lunch” from Happy Place Cafe is included in the price.

ABOUT THE SHOW
Nathan Hartswick (sometimes called "Vermont's Dollar-Store Sam Reich") hosts this chaotic game show that puts local improv teams to the test!
As if creating spontaneous comedy isn't hard enough, Nathan makes each team spin a multicolored wheel that ADDS a challenge to their performance.
They may have to do scenes with marbles in their mouth. Maybe one team member has to play dead the entire time. Will they have to incorporate a LIVE HORSE onstage with them? Probably not, but you just NEVER KNOW -- and THAT'S THE POINT.
At the end of the show, Nathan Hartswick (sometimes called "Vermont's Budget Taskmaster") will choose a winning team to receive a very low-value prize.
It's [even-higher-stakes] improv comedy that is sure to have you laughing - from the edge of your seat. Don't miss it!
